We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable IT Professional to join our Business Solutions team.  This is an exciting opportunity to join the IT Business Solutions team to ensure that business applications are aligned with business processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Responsible to the Manager, IT Business Solutions. You will work with management, customers, end-users, and vendors to support and leverage existing solutions or deliver new business solutions to achieve the desired results. You will utilize your proven abilities to analyze, design, develop, implement and monitor IT solutions that effectively and continuously meet business requirements. Your strong cross functional skills will be employed to provide leadership within projects.

Work with Solution Owners to create product road maps and to ensure products/solutions meet business needs and that solutions are sustainable.

Will contribute to the preparation of Business Cases, Project Management Plans, estimates, risk assessments and other project management documents.  

Responsible to manage and resolve conflicts in the architecture and design of solutions with other elements of the system and business architecture, escalating issues when appropriate.    

Responsible for elicitation, analysis, and documentation of functional and non-functional requirements. Create and maintain User Stories or Business Requirements. 

Responsible for requirements and systems analysis, design and modeling, data design and modeling.  Working with the development team to ensure requirements are understood and delivered as expected.

Will participate in vendor assessment and selection when researching new solutions that address business needs. Define configuration requirements, data mapping, and integration methods for vendor solutions.

Will collaborate with stakeholders to assess and validate proposed solutions against requirements to ensure business needs are met.  Assist in creating and executing functional and non-function test plans.

Will work with all stakeholders in the development and execution of implementation strategies and transition plans.

Must meet deadlines with a high level of quality, while adhering to architectural principles, documentation standards, and following defined processes.

Must establish a good working relationship with team members and management to ensure that issues are escalated in a timely and appropriate manner.

Assign tasks to other analysts and provide leadership and mentoring.


Post-secondary education in Information Technology or similar discipline.

Five or more years’ experience as Business Systems or a related job function with team leadership responsibilities

Understanding of Information Technology concepts, standards, procedures, and policies including in-depth knowledge of business processes and information modeling and techniques.


Experience with waterfall and agile scrum project methodologies.


Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.


Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and ability to adapt terminology to the target audience.


Effective relationship-building and facilitation skills, and familiarity working with technology staff, business users, external vendors, and stake holders up to and including executive leadership.

Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities.


Strong initiative with a results-oriented perspective.


Retail industry background preferred.
