Our client, an innovative leader in Industrial Manufacturing, is actively recruiting an accomplished Divisional Controller to join their newly integrated corporate finance team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead financial operations and drive excellence across diverse divisions, contributing to the company's growth and success.

As the Divisional Controller, you will play a pivotal role in shaping their financial strategies and ensuring operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing Consistent Financial Policies: Implementing and maintaining robust accounting policies, controls, and procedures across divisions to ensure compliance with best practices and regulations.

  • Driving System Enhancements: Leading testing and optimization efforts for changes to the Payroll and finance ERP system to achieve desired financial outcomes.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Recruiting, coaching, and developing accounting and finance personnel to foster growth, efficiency, and a strong team dynamic within a group of approximately 10 professionals.

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Developing and implementing unified contribution margin and gross margin tools and reporting across divisions. Analyzing and reporting production costs by project, focusing on materials, labor, and overheads.

  • Tax and Compliance: Developing monthly income tax provisions and offering strategic assistance in income tax preparation and planning.

  • Performance Reporting: Generating timely and detailed financial performance reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, providing insights and recommendations to senior management and FP&A teams.

  • External Audit Coordination: Coordinating external audit activities to ensure compliance and transparency, while enhancing the Company's working capital metrics such as DSO, DPO, and DIO for improved operational efficiency.


To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role within accounting or finance, ideally as a Controller or in leadership.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of ASPE and/or IFRS accounting standards and skilled with ERPs. 

  • Industry Experience: A proven track record in the manufacturing industry is crucial to understanding our operational context and challenges.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a strong aptitude for independent problem-solving and resolution.
