Job Summary

We are currently seeking a bilingual Application Specialist to join our Desktop and Applications

team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, operation,

maintenance, development and testing of new or existing databases and applications to support

the business solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

· Support all aspects for a range of applications and its components on different platforms

and integration with other applications

· Investigate and troubleshoot various issues escalated by the IT support centre(s)

· Assist in finding new solutions or using existing application to answer requests from our

user community

· Perform a vast array of tasks associated with proactively administering and managing the

systems, various applications, more specifically installing, debugging, maintaining,

updating and providing general assistance (including availability for after hour on call

support as required)

· Evaluate, test and deploy all upgrades to the applications

· Participating in system analysis, requirements gathering, system design and

implementation planning for any existing or new systems

· Regularly install “patches” and updates on administrative and utilities. Configure and add

new services when necessary

· Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate the


· Ensures an around-the-clock back-end and front-end systems availability

· Rigorously create and maintain documentation both technical and non-technical

documentations (reports, notes, procedures, etc.) to document activities, procedures,


Required Knowledge and Experience

· College diploma in computer science

· A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience; legal applications experience is an


· Expert understanding and working knowledge of Document Management Systems,

Microsoft Office applications, PDF software and other document comparison and

production tools

· Highly skilled in application administration, testing, configuration, performance

monitoring and in depth troubleshooting

· Strong understanding and working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies and

Windows Registry

· Grasp of installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of Document Management Systems,

Office Applications and Windows operating system

· VBA or coding experience is an asset

· Word processing experience is an asset
